President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed the law on the Constitutional Court of Ukraine. 31/07/2018
The Head of State stressed that the signed document is an integral part of the judicial reform aimed at ensuring the right of citizens of Ukraine to a fair trial.
The President stressed that this law has two innovations: a transparent selection of candidates for the Constitutional Court judge; as well as the possibility of any legal (except for representatives of the state or local government) or an individual to submit a complaint to the Constitutional Court.
“If a person, having gone through the consideration of his case in ordinary courts, considers that the law that was applied in deciding on him is unconstitutional, then he will no longer have to look for people’s deputies or the president – he will have the right to apply directly to the Constitutional Court with a constitutional a complaint, and the court should consider and make a corresponding decision “, – explained the President.
